Info

Knit your first hat! This class session will be spent learning the basics of knitting in the round. You will begin by casting on and joining in the round on circular needles, and then we will switch to double pointed needles and learn how to finish off a hat. This class will progress at a quicker pace. You will be required to knit and purl comfortably on your own, without assistance. Participants need to bring their own supplies to the first class.

1 skein of Lion Brand Hometown USA yarn *OR* 1 skein of Lion Brand Thick and Quick yarn

1 set of size US 13 or US 15 sixteen inch circular knitting needles.
** Be sure to pay close attention to all of the numbers on the packaging. These needles come in different lengths, and you must get the 16 inch cable size! Example: the label may say 16" (41 cm) Size 13 (9 mm) OR 16" (41 cm) Size 15 (10 mm)

-1 set of double pointed knitting needles, size US 13 or US 15. (There will be four or five per set; you'll use them all.)

-Stitch markers. (These should be large enough to fit easily over your needles.)

-1 large-eye blunt tapestry needle (metal or plastic.)

** Supplies can be found at Michaels or JoAnn Fabrics.

Adults and students age 13 and up are welcome.
